We’re planning a variety of exciting and elightening events for the coming months and years that include:
- Exibits of Richard’s work in existing museums to reach a broad audience and celebrate his artistic achievements.
- Art Events for All Ages encouraging creativity across all age ranges, from children to adults, promoting artistic expression and community engagement.
- School Art Exhibits for school-age children, inspiring young artists and encouraging school art education.
- Community Engagement Events in Walpole and local communities to introduce people to Richard Schmid’s life and work

2nd ANNUAL PUTNEY PAINTERS & FRIENDS PAINT WALPOLE
Saturday, June 14, 2025
Join us for a day of celebration honoring the life, legacy, and enduring influence of world-renowned artist Richard Schmid—with special recognition of the Putney Painters, the beloved group he mentored and inspired throughout his career. These celebrated artists will be painting en plein air throughout the day—visitors are warmly invited to watch them at work and experience the creative process up close
Day of Creativity, Community, and Fun:
This event will emphasize the joys that creating art brings to the world, and the importance it plays in bringing our community together. All residents of Walpole, NH and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend this annual celebration of the Arts.
Children and families are welcome to participate free of charge.
Complimentary art supplies and creative guidance will be provided for children and teens, giving them the opportunity to explore their imagination and create their own artwork during the event. (Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)

Join us for a special Global Zoom Event honoring the legacy, knowledge and teachings by world renowned artist Richard Schmid.
Learn from a Live Painting Demonstration by two of today’s foremost artists: Nancy Guzik and Michelle Dunaway, whose artistry and mentorship carry forward Richard’s vision with grace and excellence. Hosted by passionate art supporters Joe Hawkins and Symi Jackson
