RS FOUNDATION

OUR MISSION

The Richard Schmid Fine Art Foundation (RSFAF) dedicates itself to preserving the living legacy of American master painter and author Richard Schmid. Our mission is to advance his educational and artistic spirit of excellence, skill, and generosity through his art, vision, and philosophical ideas on creativity—with inspiration and joy worldwide! The RSFAF is a 501(c)3 private nonprofit organization based in Walpole, New Hampshire.

IMPLEMENTING RICHARD’S VISION

The RSFAF is actively creating a worldwide Fine Art community membership. We are entrusted with carrying out Richard’s wishes of providing in-person and online painting demonstrations, workshops, forums, exhibitions, annual events, ambassadorships, and—in the near future—a worldwide Richard Schmid Book Club. These initiatives are designed to educate, inspire, and pass on Richard’s profound knowledge to future generations.

Looking ahead, the RSFAF aspires to bring Richard’s private art collection to the public to create a Richard Schmid Fine Art Museum and Educational Center. The proposed museum will provide art galleries and workshop spaces where people of all ages may come to view his paintings, study with master artists who exemplify classical and Alla Prima painting, and learn from other prominent artists and teachers by experiencing the joys of creativity through the universal beauty of Fine Art.

Long Term Goal:

  • Establish a Museum: Create a dedicated museum to exhibit Richard’s paintings and provide space for workshops, fostering an immersive environment for art appreciation and education.

Short Term and Intermediate Goals:

  • Exhibit Richard’s Work: Host Exhibitions of Richard’s artwork in existing museums to reach a broad audience and celebrate his knowledge of Alla Prima Painting techniques and his artistic achievements.

  • School Art Exhibits & Youth Programs: Host art exhibits specifically for school-age children and other young artists, encouraging creativity and inspiring them with the beauty of Fine Art. The RSFAF has already begun supporting Art After School programs designed to enrich the lives of children and teens through artistic exploration and expression.

  • Community Engagement Events: Conduct events in Walpole and surrounding communities that introduce people to the life and work of Richard Schmid and affirm his enduring belief that art has the power to do good.
