CLAYTON BECK PAINTING oil, 16×20, 2007
Curated by Libby Givan Whipple of Plainfield, Indiana, this thoughtfully assembled exhibition pays tribute to the lasting artistic legacy of master painter Richard Schmid. Whipple created the show as a personal homage to his profound impact on her work.
The exhibition initially debuted in Whipple’s hometown, where it captured the attention of fellow artist Nancy Guzik, who recognized the significance of the collection. Thanks to her enthusiastic support, a curated portion of the exhibition is now on view in Chicago for a limited time.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to view three major original paintings by Richard Schmid—alongside a captivating watercolor, a historical small gouache, several witty graphic cartoons, and a charming oil portrait of his cat, Zorro. Also on display is a beautiful oil painting by Libby Whipple, all presented in the historic setting of the Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts.
